My name is Kyle Wise. I am a student of engineering with dreams of becoming an architect. My design philosophy, in relation to architecture and building construction, is that nature and its guiding principles are the keys to optimal building design. As society evolves and technology advances, the field of architecture is becoming increasingly more reliant on its relationship between structure and the natural environment. "Sustainability" is a notion in design that has gained massive popularity as energy consumption and material production has become increasingly more expensive and has thus caused developers to invest in its implementation to their building design. As architects, this is a very exciting opportunity as architectural design, in relation to sustainability, has become financially profitable, thus providing a new field of creative design that is relatively unknown. Unfortunately,  this design is usually left to engineers who have been specifically trained to problem solve in relation to the natural forces at work on a building structure. Concluding my view on the current state of architecture, there must be no more separation! Architects must be engineers. They must learn the ways of nature and optimize architectural design accordingly.
